Remember Cuba Gooding Jr? He’s the actor that you may not remember because he hasn’t exactly made any major films in a while. But you could remember him from doing backflips when he won his Academy Award back in 199xxxx (we really can’t remember).
Gooding has appeared back in the news for reasons that might not exactly help his career all that much. The actor is wanted for allegedly shoving a bartender on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. The incident took place early Tuesday morning and the female bartender is out for legal blood.
Gooding was at The Olde Absinthe House when he wasn’t happy about a tourist who was trying to take his picture without permission.
“Gooding soon became very aggravated with them,” the New Orleans police said in a statement.
When the bartender came over to tell Gooding to calm down, he allegedly “pushed her away with an open hand.”
That’s when hell broke loose and the woman called the police. After the bartender told Gooding that the police were coming, he allegedly pushed her again and fled. He is now wanted for municipal battery.
Gooding was in New Orleans to film “The Butler” with Oprah Winfrey.

It is annoying to have your picture taken without permission, however, being a celebrity, it should be par for the course. If he can’t handle the public maybe he should become a recluse or go into more exclusive places where the people have the good graces to leave him a lone. See how he likes that!

After the woman stated that she was going to call the police–either way he was going to be held for battery OR e was going to be held for battery AND evading arrest. Take your pick. He should have waited and then had her ass arrested for being a public nusiance.

Cuba Gooding, Jr. is an oscar winner and they remain winners forever. He has made lots of movies that some folks would not appreciate because he remains true to his color. He is a great actor and for anyone to downplay his success shows ignorance or jealousy. His accuser, a female bartender, is probably hurting for cash so she goes to a source in a part of the country where Cuba Gooding, jr types still have a place, and further annoys Mr. Gooding so that she would get a reaction like pushing her out of his face and wham, she got a case. I hope that he files a counter suit because the bartender does not own the bar, was not a bouncer, and had no business getting in Mr. Goodings space.

How was he charged and she provoked the incident, more importantly, the person who imposed on his time and took the photo without permission (not a journalist or photojournalist who are paid to annoy celebrities), the man was just relaxing between working. Cuba Gooding, Jr. is an excellent actor and gentlemen, did not deserve. This female bartender, likely white, is playing the “southern poor little white girl attacked by the big black man” just so she can get some money, period.

Of course I remember Cuba Gooding Jr. He happens to be one of the best actors of all times. It is obvious that he really hones his craft. He truly deserves his awards. I love his work and he seems very ethical and responsible by not just accepting “any ole role” for a buck. My prayer is for his safety and divine right order in his life and affairs so that he may continue to be a great reflection of creativity, energy, compassion and love that motivates and inspires so many others. Cuba keep your eye on the divine prize and let the worldly temptations go. Keep your head to the high calling. Love and peace to you.

I remember Cuba Gooding jr in a lot of movie’s and I don’t understand why your making him look like a nobody, he a great actor when he take’s a roll he make’s it his like when he did the movie Radio great movie because he played that roll I would never in a million years could see someone else with that part of the movie like him he also played a good part in Saving Ishia I may have spelled it wrong but you know the movie it was not a big part but he still made it his I don’t know the name of the movie when he played the first Black man to become a deep sea diver but I know he worked it out and did a great job in that movie and also his award for that manger line that’s still being use today (SHOW ME THE MONEY) Tom Cruse was his manager to put him on front street like this is crazy because you don’t want to remember him don’t mean that we will for get him they need to give him another part in another movie and call it (YOU WILL REMEMBER ME) somethings I don’t understand why is it that you can pick and choose who you want to be remembered and we don’t have that choice I remember you Cuba I own your movies and I don’t watch bad movies kisses.
Bo Watkins – the writer of this article – I am CALLING U OUT 4 BEING IGNORANT! He was JUST in RED TAILS earlier this year and was very good in the role. I guess you aren’t very Afrocentric yourself or you wouldn’t have made such stupid comments.
Another great movie a lot of people slept on that he starred in was called ‘Shadowboxer’ – and I don’t even like Cuba that much but he’s excellent in both the roles mentioned.
PS: I think brotherman above is talking about being the first black Navy Seal and not the first black scuba diver… there are scuba divers all over the world that are black. That was a good movie as well. Actually I guess I do like Cuba more than I thought!
