Chris Brown Runs Away from Frank Ocean Comments: Doesn’t Want to be the Next Chick-fil-a

Chris Brown is trying to cover his butt after being accused of making homophobic remarks toward Frank Ocean, who has revealed that he is openly gay.  Brown ran for the hills after being accused of homophobia, and after having a pow wow with his PR people, decided to set the record straight on Twitter:

“My Opinion on the whole Frank Ocean subject is……… Love who u wanna love. It’s ur decision. People stop searching for BS,” he said on Twitter.

Brown seems upset that a reporter on France claims that he heard Brown say “Man, no homo,” when he was asked about Ocean’s homosexuality.

“Everyone is so quick to point the wrong fingers at each other!” Brown also said on Twitter. “Am I Doing everything I can to help the world ????”

“The world is so bent on social acceptance that we’ve forgotten what makes us special… Our individuality! #Imdone” he continued.

Good cover Chris.  We hope you didn’t get out of line on the Frank Ocean issue.  You don’t want to be the next Chick-fil-a.

Frank Ocean’s Manager Issues Apology To Target Over ‘Anti-Gay’ Tweet

Frank Ocean’s manager did some damage control after recently posting a tweet that had fans in an uproar over Target’s decision not to carry the recently-outed singer’s new album.

A manager for R&B singer Frank Ocean, who publicly came out of the closet last week, apologized to retail giant Target after suggesting that they would not be selling his clients CD because of his sexual orientation, according to a report from Billboard magazine.

Target revealed that it would not be carrying Ocean’s debut studio album “Channel Orange,” due to the label’s decision to sell it digitally on iTunes ahead of its scheduled release date. But while Ocean’s manager Christian Clancy, announced via his Twitter page that they would not carry the disc due to the iTunes exclusive, he also implied that the decision had something to do with his admission about his sexuality.

“Target has refused to carry Frank’s album because of iTunes exclusive,” Clancy initially tweeted.. “Interesting since they also donate to non-equal rights organizations.”

But Target later issued a statement to Billboard magazine, denying that Ocean’s sexuality played any role in the matter.
“The claims made about Target’s decision to not carry the Frank Ocean album are absolutely false. Target supports inclusivity and diversity in every aspect of our business. Our assortment decisions are based on a number of factors, including guest demand.”

Clancy later backtracked on his tweet, saying “I apologize for my comments about Target. They are not carrying Frank’s album because it went digital first. Not for ANY other reason. … My response was simply an emotional knee jerk reaction. … Stop. Breath. Do the best you can. Be honest. Keep it moving.”

Interesting turn of events. Do you think Target had ulterior motives for not carrying the album?

Record Company Scores Big On Frank Ocean Coming Out The Closet!!!

According to Theybf: Though “coming out” instantly turned Frank Ocean into the music industry’s hottest commodity, Def Jam claims the early release of his album, Channel Orange, wasn’t “planned” to piggy back off all the attention.

Within a matter of days, buzzworthy artist Frank Ocean went from being an underground talent to the most talked about man in the music industry…and Def Jam now claims that all just “happened” – it wasn’t planned.

While the industry has applauded Frank for “coming out” some industry cynics point to his “revelation,”appearance on Jimmy Fallon, and the early release of Channel Orange as being part of a well-executed marketing plan.  Def Jam disagrees.

Def Jam president Joie Manda told EW in an e-mail, ”You have to understand that Frank’s letter last week was in NO WAY intended to impact the marketing of this record. Like all things with Frank, it was a carefully measured, very personal decision.”  He added that the label’s “plans remain the same: to support Frank Ocean’s creativity and artistry and allow him the freedom to continue building the very special relationship he’s cultivated with his fans.”

So Joie says everything, with the exception of Frank coming out, had already been been in the works and Frank isn’t playing up the “gay” factor to boost sales.  BUT….if he were…..it’s truly working!  After his album hit iTunes, it became the #1 album in less than an hour!  On top of that, the digital sales are expected to be around 125K (and this is before the disc even hits music stores).

So for folks who say coming out will impact music sales….it will.  And for Frank, that’s a good thing.

Madam Prezident: 5 reasons Frank Ocean should have stayed in the Closet!!!

1)      Hip-Hop & Homosexuality don’t mix-There are many talented gay people that have not been able to break into mainstream hip-hop.  Hip-Hop is dominated by African Americans who have strived extremely hard to create and protect their image and the fact of the matter is homosexuality has always been shunned upon in the African American community, so the reason Frank Ocean desired to come out the closet is beyond me!

2)      Money- Coming out the closet is going to STOP deals!!!! Frank Ocean should know that once he identifies himself in a particular group-then it’s going to stay with his brand forever! While some men make millions of dollars pretending to be heterosexual-he will never have the opportunity because real women do not have an interest in men who like men!

3)      Collaboration- Artist will not work with Frank Ocean now that he has decided to come out the closet! Again-people have been working for to uphold their image and they will not let a talented new comer ruin it! Frank Ocean has possibly ruined the opportunity to work with several great artists!

4)       Black People Don’t Support Homosexuality- Although Frank is attempting to make a stand; he would have been better off having a seat. Since the beginning of time black people have forbidden homosexuality. White people can be gay and get away with it; black people cannot! The world loves Anderson Cooper, but what black gay man do people love? The ideology that you have to come out the closet is played out-As an artist your only concern should be your art! No-one is entitled to your personal life (Learn from Queen Latifah). Being black in America is hard enough young man; however you have made it a whole lot harder. Robert Downey Jr. was strung out on drugs now he’s America’s Iron Man-Bobby Brown was strung out on drugs and now he’s just another negro who was on top of his career and drugs destroyed it!

5)      You’re an Artist Not A Gay Man-Frank Ocean should know that he is an artist and his sexual preference is not a part of his art! Frank Ocean should realize if you are not trying to be the poster man for Gay Men than you should have kept your personal life personal and professional life professional.  There is nothing bold about coming out the closet; what’s bold is never going into the closet! I wish Mr. Ocean all the best in his career, and I hope God helps him on this new journey which he is about to encounter!
