Beyonce Hand-Written Letter To Michelle Obama

Beyonce Knowles updated her new website today with a personal letter to First Lady Michelle Obama that she decided to share with her SUPPORTERS.

Beyonce has established a special relationship with our FLOTUS since she sang “At Last” at one of the President’s Inaugural balls 3 and a half years ago.

Since then, Beyonce & Mrs. O have teamed up for the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign, Beyonce & her family donated a stack of cash during FLOTUS’ recent NYC Presidential fundraiser for her husband, and both ladies have expressed a mutual respect for each other.

So Beyonce penned a letter revealing her appreciation for the First Lady…and even thanked her for being a role model to her own daughter, Blue Ivy.  She wrote:

Michelle Obama is a force. An empowered inspiration not only to women, but a living example to us all.

Obama Talks First Date Michelle Obama, Braiding Maila’s Hair & more

If you won a date with the President, what would you ask him?

Earlier this month, four lucky contestants who had entered a President’s Dinner contest won the chance to sit down with Barack Obama and the First Lady for dinner. During the course of the dinner all four couples, were given the opportunity to ask the President and First Lady questions and the two shared stories on their kids, marriage, etc. The POTUS was very candid as he shared a few personal stories including how he tried to impress Michelle on their first date and the time he tried to braid his youngest daughter’s hair before her ballet rehearsal.

The guest were also given the opportunity to share stories of their own. One winner in particular almost reduced the President to tears when he explained how the health care legislation had helped his son get brain surgery.

Check out excerpts and video from the dinner below:

President Obama on his first date with Michelle

Our first date, I took her to the art museum, or the art institute, so I was trying to impress her and show her I was a real culturally sensitive guy. And it worked. So I’m giving tips to the young men out there…

Michelle on what she enjoys the most about being the First Lady

It’Ps the power of the big bright light that you have on things that are important and really being able to make a difference.

President Obama on braiding Malia’s hair before taking her to dance practice

My favorite story out of this is Malia, when she was 4, she had a little dance thing. Well, Michelle was gone that weekend so I’m taking her to ballet. And I get her in her little leotard and her little stuff. I did her hair, put it in a little bun. We get to the dance studio and one of the mothers there right away comes up to Malia – she thinks she’s out of earshot of me and she says, ‘Sweetie, do you want me to redo your hair?’ And Malia who she’s 4 says, ‘Yes please, this is a disaster’ you know, she didn’t want to hurt daddy’s feelings.

Michelle Obama on Reports Linking Her to White House Friction

“First Lady Michelle Obama has responded to reports of friction between her and the president’s top advisers. The information is from a new book by NY Times reporter Jody Kantor.

In an interview with CBS News’ Gayle King, the FLOTUS admitted that she is “not an expert on most of the issues that [the president] is dealing with on a daily basis.”

“I am one of his biggest confidants, but he has dozens of really smart people who surround him,” she said. “I want him and he wants to be talking to the people with the best information. That’s not to say that we don’t have discussions and conversations. That’s not to say that my husband doesn’t know how I feel.”

The book Kantor, titled “The Obamas,” out today depicts Michelle Obamas as a powerful behind-the-scenes player in her husband’s administration. On the other hand, it also says that there was frustration and tension between Mrs. Obama and the president’s team, including former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel and former Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

“One thing is true, that I talk very candidly to my husband about how I feel, but that’s the kind of relationship we have,” the first lady told CBS. “I wouldn’t go to Rahm about something that I would talk to my husband about. If I didn’t agree with something, I would talk to my own husband about it.”
