Lady Sings A Song About Fried Chicken, BUT SHE CAN ACTUALLY SING!

According to Yourblackworld: It’s one thing to love friend chicken and it is quite another thing to love Jesus but when the two come together into a song, it may just be too much.

Logan Mac is a woman who, apparently, does not care about being a singing stereotype who will be subjected to a lot of ridicule, but she does love chicken and Jesus and she wrote a song about it.

With lines like “Don’t let me die skinny, lawd,” and “I Wanna Be Thick For You Jesus” its hard to believe that Logan is being serious, but when you watch the video, you will see that the intensity with which she sings leaves very little doubt that she is in fact a Jesus loving, chicken loving and eating woman.

While Logan’s song may be mildly amusing, it does bring a terrible stereotype to the forefront. Black women are constantly stereotyped as “loving the lord” and loving “soul food,” which chicken is a staple of.

With the high rate of heart disease and diabetes that plague the Black community disproportionately, it seems that Logan’s song may not be so amusing after all.

No one can fault you for loving Jesus but loving friend chicken to the extent that you write a song about it is sad when you think about what it does to your health.

Diamond, the former Crime Mobb Atlanta native, who’s been romantically linked to rapper Soulja Boy dishes on why she declined to do Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, what her relationship is like now with her ex-boo Scappy and why she loves Soulja Boy, but isn’t ready to be married just yet.

Okay I have to ask about your relationship. What’s the thing you love the most about Soulja Boy?

Diamond: That’s my best. We’re best friends. His ambition, his drive to challenge himself to take on other challenges not just musically. It’s him being a businessman and matching his brands with other things. I want to say he’s one of the first ones that initiated me to think on that level, when I started spending more time with him.

So if he proposed to you tomorrow would you say yes?

Diamond: I’m not ready to get married

How’s your friendship with Scrappy now? Are you guys friends?

D: I haven’t seen him.

You would think after having a relationship with someone for so long that you could finally be friends.

Diamond: That’s the same thing I said. It is what is it. I’m not looking to be his friend; I don’t want to be his friend. At some point we need to make amends. I’m to the point now, because I know at one point he was trying to reach out, and I was still angry from a lot of things that happened in the past. I think I’m to the point now where I could…

We heard that you might be on a reality show. We know that you can’t confirm but you were supposed to be on it before (Love & Hip Hop). Why’d you decide not to do it?

Diamond: I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I don’t like to go into things blind. It’s weird. Because God is really dealing with me. I know that having faith, you have to step out sometimes and trust that, whatever you do, whatever decisions you make, whether it’s a bad one or not, he’ll turn around and make it into something positive. So now that I realize that. But at that point, I was a loose cannon. So anybody that would have came at my any kind of way, or if I won’t have reacted the way that I wanted to, I’m still an artist. So I didn’t want to do anything to temper my brand. Now I’m calmer, I think. I still have a temper but I think before I get mad. I think in a political way. As women we’re so emotional. But as man, they cannot get along with someone but still get this money together. So that was a combination of things and I didn’t really have the control to, have a lot of say so in my image.

Michael Vick Admits He Owns A Dog

Michael Vick has finally said squarely … his family does indeed have a dog.

There’s been a lot of controversy over whether Vick — who served hard time for brutally killing multiple dogs, should own one again.
Vick says, “I understand the strong emotions by some people about our family’s decision to care for a pet. As a father, it is important to make sure my children develop a healthy relationship with animals.”
Vick goes on, “I want to ensure that my children establish a loving bond and treat all of God’s creatures with kindness and respect. Our pet is well cared for and loved as a member of our family.”
Vick continues, “This is an opportunity to break the cycle. To that end, I will continue to honor my commitment to animal welfare and be an instrument of positive change.”

Woman In Oklahoma Finds Shards Of Plastic In Her McDonald’s Cookie!

We all know someone who’s bitten into something questionable from a fast food restaurant.

According to News9:

Imagine, a mother of five stops by McDonald’s to get her kids a treat. But when she bit into a cookie she started spitting out blood. That’s exactly what she says happened.
“Grab myself a cookie and popped it in my mouth and started chewing and when I did my tongue was cut and it was cut and bleeding,” said Katherine Ashowo. “I started spitting the cookie into my hands and when I did, I still didn’t have anything that would have cut it. So I’m confused looking for it, but I knew it was something sharp. So I reached my hand around in my jaw and it was a piece of glass.”
Ashowo pulled out a tiny piece of clear, hard plastic. It slit her tongue open and she panicked.
“That’s scary for kids, it’s really scary,” said Ashowo. “I was just so freaked out about it. So I parked the car went back into McDonald’s.”
Ashowo explained the whole story to the managers right then and there. The next morning she got a response from the store.
“He said that they have found these shards of glass in multiple cookies that were in their store to be sold,” Ashowo said.
Ashowo took the kids to the doctors to get checked out. Luckily everyone seems to be healthy. Cut this mom can’t stop thinking of the “what ifs”.
“Thank God it just cut my tongue. It could have been in my gums. It could have required surgery to remove it. It makes you very cautious of trusting fast food.”
Ashowo and her kids say they’ll think twice now before eating anything they don’t make in their own home. She says all she wants is an apology from McDonald’s, but so far she hasn’t heard anything.
McDonald’s issued the following statement to News 9:
Nothing is more important to me than the safety and well-being of our customers. I want to assure our customers that our restaurant has among the most stringent food safety and quality standards and I caution anyone from reaching a conclusion without the facts. We take this matter seriously and a thorough investigation is being conducted.

Chick-fil-A President Says “We Support Biblical Families”

Despite Chick-fil-A’s efforts to appease to the gay community, its President, Dan Cathy, reiterates the company’s support for “biblical families.”

In one of his first interviews since the controversy that surrounded his chain of restaurants, Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy did not say much — but did mention his support for “Biblical families.”
Cathy spoke with 11Alive’s Matt Pearl this past Saturday at an event at the Cathy family’s ranch, The Rock Ranch, in The Rock, Ga. While offering an interview about the ranch and its various fall events, the Chick-fil-A president did agree to answer a few questions about the major topic of conversation: his earlier statements this summer about gay marriage. Back in July, Cathy told the Baptist Press the company stands “guilty as charged” for its stand on Biblical and family values. “We are very much supportive of the family — the Biblical definition of the family unit,” he said. “We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that.”
This past weekend, Cathy sidestepped questions about the controversy but did reiterate the company’s devotion to families. “Families are very important to our country,” Cathy said. “And they’re very important to those of us who are concerned about being able to hang on to our heritage. “We support Biblical families, and they’ve always been a part of that.”

Sad: “RuPaul Drag Race” Contestant Sahara Davenport Died From Heart Failure

See how y’all just be jumping to conclusions? SMH. The young transgender woman who gained fame as a contestant named Sahara Davenport on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” died from heart failure according to her mom.

Antoine Ashley, better known as Sahara Davenport on RuPaul’s Drag Race, died Monday of heart failure, according to his mother Angela Ashley Reddish.
“I thank God for giving me an angel Antoine Ashley to share with the rest of the world,” Reddish said in a statement Wednesday. “My family and I would like to thank everyone for their condolences and support. We know that our angel is now dancing in heaven.”
Ashley’s boyfriend of six years, Karl Westerberg – who competed on season three of RuPaul’s Drag Race as Manila Luzon – also released a statement.
“Antoine lived to entertain the world as Sahara Davenport and the world was in awe over his extreme talent. But his heart is what made us all fall in love with him,” he said.
“To me he will always be my best friend, my hero, my diva and I have always considered myself more than lucky to have him be forever a part of my life. Thank you, hon, for bringing so much beauty to all of us. Your legacy lives on in me and all of us you’ve touched.”

VA Lawmaker Says Disabled Children Are God’s Punishment To Women Who Had Abortions!

Are you f-ing kidding?? Somehow this bigot delegate got votes and now he’s one of many lawmakers trying to tell women what to do with their bodies.

On Thursday, Virginia State Delegate Bob Marshall (R) spoke at a press conference against state funding for Planned Parenthood. He blasted the organization for supporting a women’s right to choose, saying that God punishes women who have had abortions by giving them disabled children:
“The number of children who are born subsequent to a first abortion with handicaps has increased dramatically. Why? Because when you abort the first born of any, nature takes its vengeance on the subsequent children,” said Marshall, a Republican.
“In the Old Testament, the first born of every being, animal and man, was dedicated to the Lord. There’s a special punishment Christians would suggest.”
Marshall is also fighting against health care reform, saying that “Obamacare” is trying to take “your soul.” Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has been pushing back against high-profile figures and entities who have been attacking people with disabilities. Will she speak out against someone in her own party?

Sounds like his looney azz needs to work on his own soul and step down off of his soap box.

Church In Mississippi Refuse To Marry Black Couple Because The Color Of Their Skin

Black Couple Denied Wedding Service At White Church In Mississippi

A Jackson couple said their big wedding plans were dashed by a white church in Crystal Springs because they are black, and the city’s mayor said she is “heartbroken” about the church’s decision. Charles Wilson said it was a huge disappointment that he and his wife couldn’t get married at the mostly white Crystal Springs church they attended because of the color of their skin.
“I feel like it was blatant racial discrimination,” Wilson said today in a phone interview. Wilson said that he and his wife Te’Andrea had sent out invitations and the printed program with their wedding date of July 21 at First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs.
But the couple had to change their plans after some members of First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs didn’t want the black couple to be married there, the pastor told WLBT.
The church’s pastor, Rev. Stan Weatherford, married the couple, but moved the ceremony to a nearby church. Weatherford acknowledged some members of the church were concerned about the black couple being married in the church. No black couple has been married in the church in recent memory.
Wilson said he had been attending the church for about a month and his now wife had been attending for more than a year.
“Prior to this, I had been telling people how nice they were here,” Wilson said. “It makes you reevaluate things.” The church pastor said he was surprised by the reaction of some church members.
“I didn’t want to have a controversy within the church and I didn’t want a controversy to effect the wedding of Charles and Te’ Andrea. I wanted to make sure their wedding day was a special day,” said Weatherford, according to WLBT.
“Maybe it’s a wake-up call for people to say we’re not standing for this,” she said. “This is not OK. For us to be as successful of a place as I want it to be, we have to do it together.”
“I will not have it.”
Garland said she hasn’t yet made plans to discuss what happened with Weatherford, but insists she will not allow the actions of a few people to destroy the town’s reputation.
“Sometimes you need a storm because they make you stronger,” she said. “We will be stronger. We will not be anything else other than unified.”

Sad! Black folks should just get the hell out of Mississippi!

Rest In Peace Kile Glover: Usher’s Stepson & Tameka’s Son Passes After Being Taken Off Life Support

We were heartbroken to learn that Tameka Raymond’s son Kile, Usher’s 11-year-old stepson was unable to overcome the injuries he suffered during an accident earlier this month.

Kile died after being taken off life support today.

According to TMZ reports:

Usher’s 11-year-old stepson has passed away this morning from injuries suffered in a tragic jetski accident in Georgia earlier this month … TMZ has learned.
Doctors removed 11-year-old Kile Glover from life support after it was determined the injuries were too severe to overcome. We’re told Kyle’s mother, Tameka Foster, struggled tremendously with the decision.
According to our sources, Tameka is understandably devastated.
Glover was injured on July 8 … as he was riding in an inner tube that was connected to a pontoon in Lake Lanier. According to authorities, a family friend who was riding a jetski behind the pontoon lost control and collided with Glover’s tube.
The accident is currently under investigation.

Yesterday Tameka tweeted a single photo of Kile and his younger brother Cinco (Usher V):

We are devastated by this news and want to extend our heartfelt condolences to the Foster, Glover and Raymond families.

Our thoughts are with them at this time. May God give them the strength to overcome this sad time.

George Zimmerman Says “It Was ‘God’s Plan’ For Me To Kill Trayvon Martin” [Video]

George Zimmerman Said It Was God’s Plan For Him To Shot Trayvon Martin

George Zimmerman, accused of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, told a television interviewer Wednesday that he would not have changed the circumstances leading up to the shooting and that he viewed the entire incident as “God’s plan.” At the very end of the interview, however, after commercial breaks and with his lawyer by his side, Zimmerman asked “to readdress on whether I’d do anything differently.”
“I do wish that there was something, anything I could have done that would have put me in the position that I wouldn’t have to take his life,” Zimmerman told Sean Hannity on Fox News Channel. “I’m sorry that this happened. I hate to think that because of this incident, because of my actions, that it’s polarized and divided America.”
Earlier in the interview, when Hannity asked Zimmerman if he regretted the specific actions of carrying a gun or getting out of his car to follow Martin that February night, the neighborhood watchman said that he didn’t. “I feel that it was all God’s plan, and for me to second guess it or judge it,” he said, trailing off. Asked, “Is there anything you might do differently?” Zimmerman said, “No, sir.”
“Zimmerman said that he does not regret getting out of his vehicle, he does not regret following Trayvon, in fact he does not regret anything that he did that night,” the family said in a statement released through an attorney, Ben Crump. “He wouldn’t do anything different and he concluded it was God’s plan.” “We must worship a different God,” added Tracy Martin, Trayvon Martin’s father, “because there is no way that my God would have wanted George Zimmerman to kill my teenage son.”
Zimmerman has said that he shot Martin after Martin knocked him down, banged his head on the pavement and threatened his life, and he believed Martin was going for his handgun. He repeated his claim to Hannity. He said he was particularly upset by the racial aspects of the case and media coverage. “I’m not a racist and I’m not a murderer,” he said.
Zimmerman said he grew suspicious of Martin after spotting the black teen in a hoodie while on an evening errand for groceries. He said Martin was moving between houses in the rain and didn’t look like a resident or a fitness enthusiast out for a run. He believed Martin spotted him and made movements toward his waistband, as if to suggest that he had a weapon, he told Hannity.
“I was on the phone [with a police dispatcher] but I was certain I could see him saying something to me and his demeanor was confrontational,” Zimmerman said. Zimmerman told Hannity he’d like to have the opportunity to apologize to Martin’s family. “I would tell them that, again, I’m sorry,” he said.
“My wife and I don’t have any children,” he said. “I have nephews that I love more than life. I love them more than myself. And I know when they were born, it was a different unique bond and love that I have with them. And I love my children even though that they aren’t born yet. “I am sorry that they buried their child,” he added. “I can’t imagine what it must feel like. And I pray for them daily.”
