People usually are excited on Fridays-usually because of Payday. Floyd Mayweather excitement is completely different! Floyd Mayweather may be home from lockdown this Friday. The boxer has been losing a lot of important training days by being in jail, where he can’t eat what he needs to eat or workout for as long as he needs to. When you’re trying to be the greatest fighter on the planet, you can’t take that much time off work.
The 35-year-old boxing champion has been incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center after an incident that involved an attack on the mother of his children. You have to wonder why a guy with so much to lose would do something so stupid. Even worse is the fact that, at the age of 35, Mayweather’s best days may be behind him.
Mayweather received his sentence after a plea deal on a domestic battery case for the last two months. According to Las Vegas police Officer Jose Hernandez, Mayweather was granted time off his 90-day sentence for work and good behavior. So, we’re glad to hear that Floyd acted like he had some sense while he was behind bars.
Mayweather went to jail June 1 after pleading guilty in December to misdemeanor charges in a September 2010 fight with his girlfriend, Josie Harris. Their two children witnessed the incident, which was over Josie dating another man. One piece of advice for Floyd is to remember that every great man usually gets brought down by a relationship situation. Don’t turn yourself into another Mike Tyson.
