Nicki Minaj And Mariah Carey Are Already Working Each Other’s Nerves!

We didn’t see this coming! Looks like we were all right when we questioned whether or not this pairing would work out.

According to TMZ…

Mariah Carey wasted no time proving what we told you 2 weeks ago — there’s only room for one diva on “American Idol.”

Carey and Nicki Minaj went at it during the first “A.I.” taping Sunday in NYC. When Nicki started critiquing a contestant, Mariah would interrupt — not once, but many times. Each time Mariah interrupted, Nicki fought back by loudly talking over Mariah.

One “A.I.” spy said Mariah and Nicki tried to cover their disdain for each other but everyone saw through it, adding, “These girls just don’t like each other.”

You may recall, we reported when producers called Mariah to tell her that Nicki would probably be joining her as a judge, she hung up the phone.

Hate to admit it but we’ll be watching this season for the side-eyed glares coming from these two attention slores! LLS

“Middle America” Won’t Watch American Idol Because Of Its All Black Judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Randy Jackson

Say word??

American Idol Nervous About Hiring All Black Judges Panel

According to TMZ reports:

Nicki Minaj may well become a judge on “American Idol,” but it will be at the expense of Mariah Carey, who we’re told hung up the phone when she was told Nicki was the top candidate.

Sources connected with “Idol” tell TMZ … Mariah was led to believe she would be the only woman on the judge’s panel. Choosing Nicki would not only crush that expectation, it would add insult to injury because Nicki (29) is a lot younger than Mariah (42).

As for the composition of the judge’s panel, we’re told by no means is it a done deal. There are 2 scenarios being played out. First, it’s unclear if Randy Jackson will come back as a judge or a mentor. If he leaves the judge’s panel, there will be another spot to fill.

The second scenario … we’re told some of the honchos believe it’s a mistake to have 2 women and a man on the panel, and a 4th male judge would be necessary.

As for who’s still in the running, we’re told Brad Paisley, Keith Urban and Enrique Iglesias are leading the pack.

And there’s one other thing. Sources connected with the show say they’re worried … if the judge’s end up being Mariah, Nicki and Randy … middle America might not welcome the blackout.

Clearly the show’s ratings are falling, so wouldn’t it make sense to try something new? Maybe having an all Black judges panel would give people of color more reason to watch.

American Idol Wants Nicki Minaj To Be A Judge

American Idol wants Nicki on their panel of judges, but we wonder if she’s even interested in taking the spot…and if there’s enough room for her AND Mariah at the table?

Idol’s hit a roadblock with Coca-Cola though and there’s a new fight between one of the shows main partners and Pepsi.

According to a source with close ties to the show, longtime rivals Coke and Pepsi are at war again — but not about market share, rather over hitmaker Nicki Minaj. The rapper and singer, whose colorful, cartoon-like style has made her among the most successful new acts of the past three years, is at the top of the list for the open seat on season 12 of Idol. But as the new face of Pepsi, an endorsement deal that includes commercials along with touring and album promo, Idol sponsor Coke is none too thrilled at the prospect. The leading soda company has been an Idol partner since season one, at a cost of $26 million per year, according to reports. The show ran into a similar problem when longtime sponsor Ford got wind of judge Jennifer Lopez’s commercial deal with Fiat.

If Fox and FremantleMedia execs have their way, this year’s panel would consist of Minaj, previously announced judge Mariah Carey, a country star (the leading candidate is Keith Urban, says an insider) and a Latin artist (Enrique Iglesias is believed to be the No. 1 choice). In March, Minaj showed genuine empathy toward those who compete on Idol, telling THR special correspondent and Idol alum Didi Benami: “It’s very difficult to be picked apart. That rejection thing is heavy.”

If Pepsi and Coca-Cola can sort their isht out, we might get to see Nicki sittin’ up there alongside MiMi…and we can’t argue that it wouldn’t be fun(ny) to watch the two of them and their ego’s.

What do you think? Should Nicki be a judge on Idol?
