Nas’ Foreclosed Georgia Home Is Up For Grabs [Photos]

Life is good for Nas…even if his house gets foreclosed on.

We’re gonna assume Nas hasn’t been putting any of his tour checks or dough from album sales towards his Georgia property.

According to TMZ:

Life’s a bitch … Nas sang it and now he’s living it … because besides being knee deep in tax debt, TMZ has learned the rapper just lost his Georgia crib to foreclosure.

According to official records, Nas purchased the 2-bedroom, 3-bath pad back in 2004 for $585,000 … but according to SunTrust bank (which issued him the loan) … Nas couldn’t foot the bill and defaulted on the payments, still owing $507,000.

SunTrust recently foreclosed on the property and then sold it to the highest bidder at public auction last month for $348,500 … WAY LESS than the rapper paid eight years ago.

It’s a steal for the new owner — the house is over 3,500 square feet with a walk-in pool and hot tub … granite counter-tops … custom theater … gym and game room.

Do you think Nas is broke??

Hit the flip for pics of the home…

I’m not impressed! Outdated!

Dead Prez Denies Nas Ghostwriting Allegations {VIDEO}

According to Hip-Hop wired: Dream Hampton’s recent allegations about Nas supposedly usingJay Electronica and dead prez as ghostwriters on his 2008 album Untitled caused pandemonium that went past the initial allegations throughout the internets for much of the latter half of August. Just as things began to simmer down, dead prez recently spoke their peace on the situation with the Sway In the Morning crew. The duo remained steadfast in their claims that their contributionsUntitled were limited to production, co-creating choruses, and bouncing around ideas. You know, the typical services of a producer.

Sway posed the question “I would love for you guys to clear up the latest controversy about Nas and if someone wrote lyrics for Nas ever for a project,” to which stic.man wittily replied “How that sound?”

“Nah. Ghostwriting as far as someone saying ‘Come and write my verse for me?’ That didn’t happen,” said stic.man. “But we did get to work with Nas extensively on the N-Word album, the Untitled album, collaborated, co-writing hooks and doing a lot of production is what I did. That rumor just jumped out of somewhere, but it was bigger than us and it had nothing to do with what we did. We were just thankful for the opportunity.”

M-1 chimed in, expressing his disdain for the whole situation, adding “It’s funny how something like this can discredit an artist, totally. Even just the rumor of this has this feel. I feel like it’s funny.”

“Nas is a phenomenal artist. He’s been the cornerstone for definitely a whole generation, and his movement is strong, he’s amazing, he’s as brilliant as he’s ever been. No matter what, whether he collaborated with somebody, Nas is who he is because he is alive and doing what he’s doing. That shouldn’t even be questioned at all. I feel like the issue at all is trivial. I feel like in the face of people who doing real things and making real contributions, let’s look at that.”

stic.man finished by spinning the question, asking “How many rappers or just entertainers have books out that’s written by somebody else?”

The full footage can be seen below and check the next page to hear dead prez speak on their forthcoming album, Information Age, releasing October.

Athletes In The USA Have Lots Of Fun In London!!! {Pics}

According to theybf: It was a big celeb-filled celebration over in London this weekend as the 2012 Olympic Games came to an end.  And TEAM USA clearly came out the winners in the medal count.

Check out how Nas, LaLa, LoLo, basketballers, Swizz Beatz, Ludacris & Eudoxie, LeToya Luckett, Gabby Douglas and more.

Nas & Swizzy spent the weekend over in London.  And made sure to party it up at The Roundhouse with their boys from TEAM USA basketball–Kobe & Carmelo.  Nas said he was given tix to the Final game by Carmelo & LeBron, so he changed dhis flight (which was orginally going back to the states the day before) to watch history.  Nice!

Nas also kicked it with YBF track star LoLo Jones.

Swizzy also spent time with his daughter Nicole, who lives in London with her mother, and visited tons of art museums.  Fun!

LaLa spent time with her good friend Ludacris and his girlfriend Eudoxie while doing some sightseeing in London.  Luda was in Londontown to shoot Fast & The Furious 6.

LaLa also posted pics of her and Carmelo hanging out, and little Kiyan trying to wake up daddy at the hotel!

Her girl Estelle finally got back to her home city and they snapped pics in front of the MCM store’s truck.

Track star Allyson Felix showed off her golden “triplets” as she called them as she did some promo on the last day of the Olympics.

Our fave history maker Gabby Douglas took some time away from all the publicity hoopla to do a little shopping around London with her Fab 5 teammate Aly.

Dwyane Wade has been jetsetting around Europe and spent the weekend in London cheering on his teammates.  His sons Zaire and Zion were pooped during their helicopter ride!

Model Jourdan Dunn repped for her country during the closing ceremonies.  Hot!

The basketballers were caught snoozing on their final bus ride.

Hottie track star Ryan Bailey snapped a pic with Alexandra Burke while out partying this weekend.

And LeToya Luckett showed her fans how much fun she had around Londontown in between cheering on her man Kevin Durant to his Gold medal:

Fun times outside the Queen’s crib, as LeToya called it.

Beyonce Rocked Blonde Braids At Nas’s ‘Life Is Good’ Dinner

In not into dookie braids

Last night, Beyonce took it back to her Destiny’s Child days after she stepped out for Nas’ ‘Life Is Good’ dinnerwearing long box braids.  Before she arrived at the event, held at Bagatelle, a fan saw her riding through Times Square and tweeted,

Just saw Beyonce, she got tight braids, she looked really pretty. She was with @S_C_. She rolled down the window and waved to my friend and I.

According to designer Orly Shani, who attended Nas’ dinner, Beyonce didn’t want to take any photos last night, opting instead to let her man Jay shine:

So Beyonce stood off to the side while her man posed for pics. I went up to say Hi and ask for a pic… She smiled wide + said “sorry baby I’m not taking pictures tonight..what’s ur name?” then put her hand out and introduced herself. #classact

Yes Beyonce had long, blonde braids all pulled back in a pony tail. No makeup except a pretty deep berry lip. Gorgeous girl.

I gotta say, I kinda loved how Beyonce stood back, laughing with a friend, while her man enjoyed the spotlight. #strongmarriage :)

Cute!

Swizz Beatz Designed Reebok “Time To Show” Zip Boot -Swizz beatz is a talented dude AND HIP-HOP beats isn’t his only talent.

According to Hip-Hop Wired:

“You can’t say Swizz Beatz isn’t trying his best to getReebok back. Besides hooking up beats for his wife and rappers like this guy named Nas, the producer/rapper designs kicks. Whether said sneakers are good looking, is debatable. The latest model to drop on Swizz’s watch is the “Time To Show.”

The sneaker (or boot) features an oversized tongue, high collar and zippers; two per shoe, actually. There is also a Swizz Beatz x Reebok logo on the insole. Brass hardware is also featured on this dark leathered out footwear while the zippers look like they’re supposed to aid with ankle flexibility. These are intended strictly for casual wear instead hooping or going on a hike and are already for sale over in the UK, so you can expect to see them stateside soon.”

“Why did we mess it up, we was friends, we had it all/ Reason you don’t trust men, that was your daddy’s fault”

Lauryn Hill Show Nicki Minaj Much Love!!!

Lauryn Hill perform at Hot 97′s Summer Jam 2012 at MetLife Stadium on June 3, 2012 in East Rutherford, New Jersey

*Lauryn Hill, who performed in the Summer Jam slot vacated by Nicki Minaj following the latter’s beef with one of its DJs, took to Twitter in the aftermath of the show to clear up lingering rumors and give props to the Young Money rapper’s decision to walk away “with integrity.”

As previously reported, Hot 97s Peter Rosenberg dissed Minaj’s single “Starships” while on stage at the station’s annual event, saying it isn’t true hip hop. In response, Minaj’s Young Money boss Lil Wayne pulled all of his artists from the bill.

Hill then took the stage with Nas in a surprise appearance. [Scroll down to watch.]

(L-R) Nas and Lauryn Hill perform at Hot 97′s Summer Jam 2012 at MetLife Stadium on June 3, 2012 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Afterward, she stated the following:

“No disrespect to Nicki, but I need to clear up an inaccuracy. I was not scheduled to be a special guest on her set at Summer Jam, I was invited by Nas to perform with him. I don’t have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs, and walking with integrity. We have to find a better way to commercially exploit music, while giving artists their proper respect. This cannot be done while taking their contributions for granted, or trying to control the scope of their growth and power through threats and fear tactics. We can do better than this, there is a better way, or else ‘we’ (the proverbial we) find ourselves in danger of being hypocrites!!!

Ms. Lauryn Hill “

Minaj quickly took to Twitter to touch on Hill’s words. “Thank u Lauryn. Nas was coming out on my set, u were coming out 2 perform w/him. That was within my set that was going to 2 continue w/foxy.” Minaj tweeted. “Coming from Lauryn it means the world. No one deserves this treatment. We’re all out here working. Have respect for your guests. #thatisall”

Nas Talks To Magazine Complex About Music, Kelis, & More

Welcome Back Nas: In a colorful early 90′s style shoot with COMPLEX magazine, The Don is officially solidifying his place in the current hip hop world.  Nas is more than back (and even sexier we may add) on the rap scene as he preps his tenth studio album, Life Is Good.  So he’s revealing how his new outlook on life came from his rough split withKelis, the drama with his teenaged daughter, Destiny, how he looks to please no one but himself & his changed outlook on women…

(Shirt by Woolrich Woolen Mills / Tank by Polo Ralph Lauren / Shorts by Rocawear / Boots by Timberland / Hat by Kangol (on cover) / All jewelry Nas’ own.)

We picked out our fave highlights from Nas’ big cover story with COMPLEX magazine.  The spread, styled byJune Ambrose, is accompanied by Nas dishing all on those rumored money problems and cheating rumors Kelis has blasted him on (and why his feelings were hurt), and how he doesn’t let anything affect his happiness this many years in the game.  He speaks on the sexiness of our First Lady, offers up a few compliments to his ex wife, and what he won’t tolerate from folks.  And gives more details into the controversies surrounding his life:

“Daughters” was an emotional record. What made you be so honest?
This is the first time I’m dealing with a teenage daughter, and it blows me away. I don’t know that you’re ever prepared to be a parent. Once you become one, that’s your responsibility. It’s more like me talking to myself, about how I could have been there a lot more. I beat myself up for not being the best I could be. I would ask her: “Am I a cool dad?” or “Am I a good dad? Did I fuck up?” And she would say, “Nah, you’re good.” That’s important to me because I started as a teen. I was around 19 when her mother was pregnant. My daughter means a lot to me. It’s just a record that came from the heart.

What’s the most important thing that you want to teach your son (Knight) about women?
He has to have his own life. My experience could be the wrong thing for his life and what’s ahead of him. A lot of older people are giving the worst advice, based on the problems they had. I’m going to need him to tell me what to do. That’s what I’m looking forward to. If I’m here, we’ll talk. If not, he’s going to figure it out on his own. He’ll take his mother’s words, he’ll take my words, and then there’s the truth. Whatever he feels, he’s got to go with his heart, and be a man in every occasion.

You talked about regrets, and looking back. Do you feel like you were punished for surviving, on some level? Big and ’Pac are untouchable now.
I’m blessed to be here and be able to go into the studio and record another album. If someone has a problem with how I’m doing my thing, how I’m living my life, how they see my legacy, that’s none of my business. How can I be mad, when I still have more to say and the opportunity to make music? That alone—that’s why my life is good.

What’s your relationship with the blogs and Twitter?
I don’t understand how artists get pissed off at people on Twitter. I appreciate a good joke. I mean, who are you? Not to say that people should have the toughest skin, and nothing should bother you… Maybe it’s just my age. I know who I am. I know what I’ve survived, and I know what I’ve done. That shit wasn’t easy. So for someone who doesn’t know anything about that to comment on it, you can’t be mad at them. They don’t know any better.

There’s a record about Kelis on Life Is Good that goes into what made you fall in love with her. How hard was that breakup? What was the feeling when she had your son after you were separated?
There was a point where we were trying to hold onto a relationship that was finished. She was pregnant and in the studio while we were recording Distant Relatives, and he would move when the music would come on. That was a great feeling for me, just to have that feeling of family. It ended around the time the record was being done.

There were times when it didn’t bother me, and there were times when it bothered me a lot. There were times when I was thinking, Damn. I had this shit all planned out, and now I’ve failed. That was hard on me, because I don’t like to fail at anything. Accepting that I failed at this relationship—and it was public—messed me up. You ask yourself, How could that person be so cold? And I’m sure she felt the same way about me. It was ugly.

I saw Kelis as Courtney Love—but I also saw her as a mahogany queen. I saw us as a beautiful thing.

How has your relationship with women changed, now that you’re older and you’ve been divorced?
I’m taken aback by the beauty of women. There was a time when I only saw big breasts and thick asses. Now, I see the beauty in the subtleties. Those are even better than the tits and ass. The aesthetics have changed for me.

She might not be the prettiest, but there’s something special about her—
That makes her pretty. No disrespect to women when I say bad bitch, but my definition of a bad bitch is not always the video vixens. A bad bitch can be a younger woman, in her early 20s, but wise beyond her years. It could be a woman in her late 30s, who’s cool as hell, smart, and has great motherly qualities—or has great motivational skills, or is a powerful mover and shaker in her own career.

Like Michelle Obama is sexy.
Michelle Obama is the most beautiful woman on the planet. She cares about people. All first ladies have their jobs to do, but you can feel her sincerity.

After you say “I do,” everything changes.
Yeah. (From a previous question) It’s fucked up when money’s involved in divorce. And I don’t give a fuck. I can’t take it with me, so someone can take the money. Anyone that I’m married to, if I give you my life, I give you my heart, I love you—my money is nothing. You can have it all. It’s just sad that when you’re dealing with love and life and marriage, that marriage is a contract. It’s a business deal. That messes people up.

Did you see a problem immediately?
Yeah, but it was a problem I was attracted to. It was rock and roll. I saw Kelis as Courtney Love—but I also saw her as a mahogany queen. I saw us as a beautiful thing. I saw us as inspiration. People weren’t seeing hip-hop artists get married. A lot of people came at me crazy. But I think overall, we were inspiring people to love.

My daughter would be calling me, like, ‘Dad, they’re talking about you on the radio.’ She wanted to tweet back, and I told her to take the high road. It was ugly.

There was a lot that was thrown at her that she couldn’t handle. Like I was saying earlier, there’s a lot that I could tell my kids, but they’ve got to fish it out for themselves. Every night, she was in bed with Harvard. She was sleeping with Harvard. She had all the answers, but I needed something more from her, that she either wasn’t ready or didn’t know how to provide. Plus, she is younger than me and she hadn’t seen all the things I had seen. She was on her journey, I was on mine. In the beginning, I said, “There’s parts of this that might not work,” but there was a beautiful part of it, too. For the most part, I had a great time being married. It was amazing. She’s an amazing woman.

She never threw daggers at you in the media.
No, she did. Over Twitter, and there were things.

In an article, she said that she wasn’t going to say anything bad about you.
That was later, because the response was not good. There were bad tweets. She was angry. She was lashing out at anyone—and anyone she would lash out at, people automatically thought she was talking about me. My daughter would be calling me, like, “Dad. I’m on my way to school, and they’re talking about you on the radio.” My daughter wanted to tweet back and shit, and I told her to take the high road. It was ugly.

How is it now?
It’s a lot better.

So there are no issues? You see your son as you please?
That side is not great yet, but it’s working toward being that way. She’s a new mom. I’m busy and she’s busy. From what I see, she’s being a good mom, and it’s working toward a great place. There was a time when I couldn’t see him at all. It was terrible when the divorce was fresh.

Did you ever get to a point where you hated her?
No. I got to a point where I was like, “Did she always hate me?” and “Did she ever love me at all?” I’ve got to admit, I did feel like that. But she did love me.

The backlash is because she loved so hard.
Exactly. They wind up taking it out on you. A lot of divorces are bad because a woman is just being vindictive. She’s not after the money, she just wants you to hurt the way she was hurt.

Could you ever see yourself getting married again?
Not right now. I’m enjoying life and looking at each day like, “This is beautiful.” I’m having a good time. I’m not going to bring anybody in to mess that up. You come around looking like you’re going to mess this good time up, you’re out of here—fast. [Laughs.] I’m not sacrificing my happiness for nobody and their drama. No way.

Loves him.  Life Is Good is in stores July 17th.
